Our first day in Madrid we decide to head straight out of town to the walled city of Segovia, which promises an Alcazar, an aqueduct and the ubiquitous cathedral. We feel very pleased with ourselves at finding the bus station and buying our tickets and locating the correct platform without mishap
Segovia is famous for its ancient Roman aqueduct, which used to carry water into the city. 28 metres high in places and 18 km long, only 800 metres remain.

The Alcazar, Segovia has to be the most picture perfect castle I have ever seen, and that includes Disney land. It has a spectacular moat, turrets and battlements and really old furnishings.
