Barcelona to Nimes

Another early start... this time to make the huge leap on the map from Barcelona to Nimes! Luckily Anna picked up how the metro works... which direction to go and all that really quickly and was able to shepherd Riccardo and I through just like Jose had done. Inspite of checking out the trains yesterday we were there in time for a 10 past 7 train that does not run on Sundays. We had time for breakfast before catching the 10 past 8. Always a popular move especially when the food choices included McDonalds and a patisserie.
This is the metro and my dainty wee back pack on the seat.

Tired travellers already and we are still in Spain.
I keep trying to get fields of sunflower shots. They make such a glorious splash of colour in the
countryside.
We changed trains at the Spain France border and several hours later made it into Nimes. A very short Taxi trip took us to Hotel Cote Patio and we settled in to our LUXURY rooms. A rock concert at the Nimes collosseum meant that town was buzzing and every hotel was full. Lucky we had booked ahead! A short stroll into town for dinner then a longer stroll around the streets to stretch out the legs after all day in a train.
Nimes has adopted this palm tree and crocodile crest as the town symbol and it appears every where... even on brass studs on the ground.

Very proudly french these words are engraved in many parts of the city.
Liberty
Equality
Brotherhood
